S11847 WAFFEN-SS M44 DOT PATTERN CAMOUFLAGE FIELD BLOUSE.
(Feldbluse M44) The M44 dot pattern camouflage field blouse was officially introduced on March 1ST 1944 as a cost saving measure, and was designed to serve double duty by replacing both the drill tunic and camouflage smock. Unbleached, HBT, cotton/rayon blend construction tunic with printed dot pattern camouflage to exterior. Camouflage pattern is predominately light brown with random spots of tan and assorted shades of green. Tunic features a five button front closure with single metal hook and eye at neck. Tunic has two non-pleated patch breast pockets without flaps, and two non-pleated patch, hip pockets with straight edged button down flaps. Sleeve cuffs have a small vertical slash to outside seam with dual button fit adjustments. Dual darted back panel with vertical tail skirt vent. Side panels at waist line each have two stitched eyelets for the belt support hooks. Belt support hooks absent. Lay down collar with typical zig-zag reinforcement stitching to reverse. Tunic has no insignia or shoulder strap retaining loops or buttons and no evidence any ever having been applied. Unlined interior in natural creme color of the material with faint bleed through of exterior camouflage pattern. Interior has grey rayon reinforcements panels to armpits and half way down side panels with vertical straps with four stitched eyelets for the belt support hooks. Forward bottom right tail skirt has a grey rayon field dressing pocket with single button closure. Interior right breast panel well marked with black inkstamped sizes and RB number. Cuff and field dressing pocket buttons are the molded tan glass type and appear to have original stitching. Front closure and hip pocket buttons are a combination of alloy and sheet metal pebbled type and most appear to have been re-stitched. Tunic shows areas of heavy chafe wear resulting in fraying to collar, left front panel and left cuff. Tunic also has a couple of small tears to armpit of right sleeve.. Tunic roughly size 42" chest. Of Note: The only insignia intended for wear was the sleeve eagle and rank insignia for tunics without shoulder straps. Material and construction signify this was a later manufactured tunic as the first models of this tunic were made from stockpiles of HBT dual sided camouflage, and came with shoulder strap loops, buttons and a factory applied sleeve eagle. By July 1944 these features were discontinued. Nice 100% original example.GRADE **1/2 PRICE $1,150.00
