N050563 NSFK /KdF "HANS GRADE ERINNERUNGSTAG" PROGRAMM. (Programm)

BACKGROUND: Originally instituted in January of 1932, the NSFK, "Nationalsozialistisches Fliegerkorps" (National-socialist Flying-corps), was soon absorbed into the DLV, "Deutscher Luftsport Verband" (German Air-sports Association). In April of 1937 the NSFK was re-established, and, at the same time, the DLV was disbanded. The NSFK was mainly a voluntary organization, with a small cadre of paid personnel, whose mandate was to train its members in the flying of powered aircraft, gliders, and balloons. The NSFK was also a part of the DAF that was divided into sub-sections for specific trades and/or professions and it also controlled the KdF, Kraft durch Freude, (Strength through Joy), organization which provided recreation for workers. Hans Grade was a pioneer in German aviation as he build his first triple decker in 1907 and air tested in 1908. In 1910, he established the first aviation school and established in 1921, an automobile company "Grade Automobilwerke AG."
