N030669 GERMAN PROTECTORATE OF BOHEMIA AND MORAVIA IDENTITY DOCUMENT. (Bürgerliche)

BACKGROUND: In September 1938, as a result of the "Munich Agreement" between Britain, France and Germany the north eastern Czechoslovakian Sudetenland was ceded to Germany, allegedly as Hitler’s last territorial claim in Europe. On March 14TH 1939 the German army marched into what remained of Czechoslovakia, unopposed, and established the German Protectorate of Bohemia & Moravia and the independent state of Slovakia which in reality was just a puppet state of the Germans.

PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION: A six page, hardcover identification document written in German and Czech to the front cover and throughout the document. To the interior is a small black and white photograph, as well as a right thumb finger print, official stamps and is dated 1940. The booklet measures approximately 8cm x 13.5cm.
