BACKGROUND: Regulations of 1937 introduced a dark blue winter uniform for the Hitler Youth, similar to that previously worn by the DJ, comprised of a pull over jacket and long trousers closed at the ankles, as well as a ski cap similar to the "Bergmütze" worn by the army. It was worn with the standard belt, buckle and cross strap.
