N015181 HITLERJUNGE SHOULDER STRAPS. (Schulterklappen)

BACKGROUND: HJ personnel wore shoulder straps on their brown shirts to indicate rank and branch of service. The HJ shoulder straps were first standardized in 1933 and underwent at least four modifications between 1933 and 1938 when a final pattern was introduced and utilized until the end of the war.

PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION: 1938 pattern, loosely woven black rayon construction, slip on shoulder straps. The shoulder straps feature bright red, rayon piping, and machine embroidered Bann numerals, "796" also in bright red threads. The shoulder straps represents rank of Hitlerjunge while the bright red piping and Bann numerals indicate service with the General-HJ.
