N008595 JUSTICE/PENAL OFFICIAL'S BELT BUCKLE. (Koppelschloß)
BACKGROUND: In September 1934 new uniforms and belt buckles were introd
uced for wear by Justizbeamte und Strafanstaltbeamte (Justice and Penal Officials). This first pattern belt buckle was identical to the Prussian National Forestry Service belt buckles. On July 2ND 1937 new pattern belt buckles were introduced for wear by Justice and Penal Officials with the Justice Official’s buckles having a silver finish and the Penal Officials’ buckles having a gilt finish. Second pattern Justice Officials belt buckle as introduced in 1937 and worn until the end of the war.
PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION: Stamped, two piece, polished natural aluminum, 50mm diameter, circular belt buckle features a highly embossed laurel leaf wreath encompassing a right facing, political style eagle with out stretched wings on a smooth, slightly domed central field. Both eagle and wreath feature nice detailing. Marked "DRGM 37" and has the Assmann logo. Nice!
