N031472 REICHSKULTURKAMMER/BDM ARCHITECT GROUPING. An extensive grouping of documents that include a Kulturkammer ID, BDM blue prints, documents, letters, photos, brochures and more. This grouping belongs to George and Anne Bühler, husband and wife, who were both architects. One of the highlights of this group is one of his professional portfolios containing four large architectural drawings of one of his dormitory designs that was widely used amongst the BDM, NSF, NSV, etc. Georg specialized in water powered based buildings, and contributed to the mass canal works. His wife designed backyard utilization for gardens. The group contains period material, as well as post war material belonging to Anne (1947-1949). The period material has some information (brochures) on various new chemically based innovations such as Linoleum, Xylamon, Rubberiod. Linoleum was extremely popular during the 1930's as it saved lumber which would have otherwise been used as floors. An amazing group!
