C077183 BRITISH/CANADIAN .303 CLEANING ROPE.

BACKGROUND: The standard issue riffle of the Canadian Army was the Lee-Enfield No 4 Mk I Rifle. It was a bolt action, manual repetition, .303 cal , single fire rifle, that could be equipped with a bayonet for hand combat and a scope for sharp shooting.

PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION: A cleaning rope measuring approximately 180cm with a 5.5cm brass cylindrical weight to each end. There is a split to the center of the rope to which each section is wrapped in a mesh that would allow for cleaning swatches to be inserted. The brass cylindrical weight was used to drop down the barrel and pull through the rope.
