BACKGROUND: The Norwegian "Nasjonal Samling" (National Unity) party instituted a compulsory labor service, based on the German "Reichsarbeitsdienst" (National-labor-service), in September of 1940. It was designated "Arbeids-Tjenesten" (Labor Service).

PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION: A 20mm button with two re-soldered wires to the reverse, while the front shows the letters "A" & "T" (Arbeids-Tjensten) with a spade to the center on a ribbed background.
