Single-breasted, dark olive drab wool tunic with a four button front closure (three brass U.S.M.C. buttons and one plastic), an open collar with lay-down lapels with reinforced stitched holes to the collar points for the attachment of collar dogs. The integral button shoulder straps have a Captain’s rank bar pinned to them. A patch pocket to each breast, and horizontal slash pockets to each hip. The buttons to the front closure, and the smaller versions of these to the integral shoulder straps and the straight-edged pocket flaps. Affixed to the left arm is the shoulder flash for the 2nd Marine Division. A belt of the same material as the tunic is also included. The interior is fully lined in olive drab rayon, with the original tag is still in good condition and it is located in the lower right pocket on the front from "Illers of LaJolla, California", while a white tag with the name "T.K. MacKenzie, Captain USMCR, Commanding" is to the interior of the same pocket. The size 41 is also clearly seen.
