C060673 CANADIAN .303 AMMO BANDOLIER.

BACKGROUND: The standard issue riffle of the Canadian Army was the Lee-Enfield No 4 Mk I Rifle. It was a bolt action, manual repetition, .303 cal , single fire rifle, that could be equipped with a bayonet for hand combat and a scope for sharp shooting.

PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION: A 1937-pattern, five pocket, ammunition bandoleer, used to carry extra clips for the No 4 Mk I .303 rifle. Made of tan/khaki cotton, about 47cm x 10.5cm , consisting of five pockets. Along the upper edge are five small brass hooks (bent out of shape) used to seal the top edge by folding it over and sliding them through holes in the other lip. There is an overall light age soiling. All the stitching is intact.
