C058060 LOT OF 10 NORWEGIAN FEMALE LABOR BADGES.

BACKGROUND: The Norwegian "Nasjonal Samling" (National Unity) party instituted a compulsory labor service, based on the German "Reichsarbeitsdienst" (National-labor-service), in September of 1940. It was designated "Arbeids-Tjensten" (Labor Service), and they wore uniforms similar to those previously worn by the Norwegian army, with rank indicated on the shoulder boards and collar tabs.

PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION: Very nice group lot of ten Norwegian Female labor badges, still tied together with the original factory string. Machine embroidered yellow thread on a red cloth backing material approximately 80mm in diameter. Features the letters "A" & "T" (Arbeids-Tjensten) and a sprig of barley to its center. Nice.
