C043587 U.S. WWI THIRD ARMY CORPS SHOULDER FLASH.
BACKGROUND: The 3rd was first organized in 1918 in France as one of four newly activated corps of the AEF. During WWII, following the attack of Peal Harbor, they became responsible for the organization of defenses of the West Coast against attacks from Japan. In 1944, they deployed for the France to be assigned to the 9th U.S. Army and the 12th U.S. Army Group. They were given the codename "Century."
PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION: A blue, three armed, machine embroidered badge that measures approximately 8cm x 8cm that appears to have been removed from a uniform with some light fraying to the edges. The colors are still quite vibrant. A nice example.
