At the conclusion of the war, the Queen’s Rangers were disbanded in Nova Scotia Canada where many men, with their families, received grants of land that became the parish of Queensbury, York County, New Brunswick. After 1791 the Queen’s Rangers were revived in Canada only to be disbanded in 1802. During this time they participated in a road building campaign which saw the construction of Yonge St., Dundas St and Kingston Rd. They also built the original Fort York where they were stationed. In 1925 the Queen’s Rangers was formed from the amalgamation of The York Rangers and the West Toronto Regiment. In 1927 the title of The Queens Rangers 1st American Regiment was revived in commemoration of the Loyalist Unit of American Revolution.
