C039971 CANADIAN PARACHUTE CORPS CAP BADGE.

BACKGROUND: The 1st Canadian Parachute Battalion was formed in July 1942. Initial training was performed in Fort Benning, USA and at RAF Ringway in England. All enlisted and volunteer personnel were trained in both locations to enhance their training. They were engaged at Operation Tonga, Battle of the Bulge and Operation Varsity. They were eventually disbanded in September 1945.

PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION: A brass stamped, formed badge complete with two lugs to the reverse, which is a mirror image of the front. Measures approximately 4cm x 4cm.
