A double breasted wool overcoat with two rows of three, 3cm brass USMC buttons to the front. Integral button shoulder straps are to either side of the lay down collar. There are two brass buttons under the collar to allow for a closed neck. There are vertical slash pockets to each side seam. A "ruptured duck" is sewn to the right breast. Chevrons representing Corporal 5^th grade are sewn to each arm below the shoulder seam. To the interior breast pocket, Velcro has been added to keep the pocket flat. The interior of the arms read "Quartermaster Dept, U.S. Marine Corps 1941-1942, 5-S and "J.M. Murphy". The chest measures approximately 42" and 112cm or 44" long from the shoulder.
