C026879 WW2 ROYAL CANADIAN ORDNANCE CORPS CAP BADGE.

BACKGROUND: Every infantry or armored Division had its own insignia. The First Canadian Army was formed in early 1942 and was the senior Canadian operational formation in Europe during the Second World War. It consisted of some 170,000 men who were organized into 2 corps (5 divisions and 2 armoured brigades).

PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION: A stamped brass badge consisting of a shield with three vertical cannons surrounded by a garter with "Honi Soit Qui Mal Y Pense" (Evil To Him That Evil Thinks) embossed upon it surmounted by a King's crown all resting on a scroll with the inscription "Royal Canadian Army Ordinance Corp." Two lugs are present to the mirror reverse along with a cotter pin.
