BACKGROUND: The Canadian Infantry Corps formed on September 2, 1942 and later received the honour of "Royal" in 1947.

PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION: The die struck brass cap badge features three maple leaves joined by one stem with crossed rifles to the foreground. The badge is surmounted by a Kings Crown with the motto "Acer" to the bottom banner. The mirror reverse features two lugs and cotter pin intact.
