C025088 "SKY BIRDS" AMELIA EARHART CARD.
Rare 1930’s U.S. National Chicle Company "Sky Birds" collecting card for the legendary female aviator Amelia Earhart. This is card number 48, produced as part of a set of 132 cards of famous aviation pioneers in 1934 by the National Chicle (chewing gum) Company, which it notes on each card was the "maker of quality chewing gum." Full color art card in very good condition. These cards came out at the height of the Great Depression. Amelia Earhart was the most famous female pilot of her day. Her disappearance over the Pacific Ocean while attempting to become the first woman to circumnavigate the earth shortly before the outbreak of WWII is still a subject of debate and searches to this day. The card measures approximately 6cm x 7.5cm with some creasing.
