C018495 BRITISH RECONNAISSANCE CORPS CAP BADGE.

BACKGROUND: The Reconnaissance Corps was a short lived corps of the British Army. It was formed from Infantry Brigade Reconnaissance Groups on August 1, 1941. It became part of the Royal Armoured Corps in 1944, still maintaining its own cap badge with two lightning strikes supporting an upright spear. The Corps was disbanded in August 1946.

PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION: Brass badge approx. 4cm x 4cm with "Reconnaissance Corps" on ribbon at bottom. The reverse is a mirror representation of the front a single screwback post at the top. Rare.
