C018162 WEST GERMAN PARA TUNIC WITH BERET.

The tunic has four pleated patch front pockets with scalloped button down flaps. The right hand breast has a silver alloy wire parachutist badge. The left sleeve has sewn to it a shield shaped airborne shoulder flash with a silver alloy thread that measures approximately 6cm x 8cm and a oval sleeve patch that measures 6cm x 8cm that also represents the airborne and is stitched in silver alloy thread. The sleeves have deep fold back French cuffs that are approximately 15.5 cm and fully stitched at the upper edge. The button on shoulder boards consist of a grey wool on a red wool waffenfarbe base. The tunic has a lay down collar, piped in red, with small fold back lapels with collar tabs featuring hand embroidered litzen in matte, silver/aluminum wire threads mounted on red badge cloth bases. The red badge cloth bases show through as the center stripe of the litzen. The collar tabs are neatly hand stitched to the tunic. The interior of the tunic is fully lined in a grey synthetic silk with the pin striped silk used in the sleeves. The lining has a horizontal slash pocket to each breast. The tunic is in overall very good condition with all of its stitching intact. The buttons are all the pebbled, alloy metal type and all retain the majority of their finish and appear to have their original stitching. The tunic is roughly size 104cm or 42" chest. Tunic comes complete with an original West German red para beret and cap badge. Beret is a size 60.
