C014164 POST WAR RUSSIAN BELT WITH BRASS BUCKLE. A brown leather belt measuring approximately 34" long belt with 8cm x 5cm square brass buckle depicting the Soviet Union Coat of Arms (Third Version used from 1946-1956) buckle The central design of the third version depicts a sickle and hammer on a globe with the sun with it’s rays shooting outward that is framed with a wreath of wheat. The number of republics increased to 16 from 11 and are represented by the 8 sections of wrapping extended from the scroll beneath. It appears to have been surfaced in a reddish highlight that has been worn off (10% remains). The buckle shows darkening and dulling due to age while the leather shows cracking, but is still quite supple. Overall a very interesting example.
