C012395 BRITISH 1800'S MILITIA/VOLUNTEER RED COAT.

A moderate/high usage and worn red coat with dark blue lapels, cuffs and tails. Five pairs of mis-matched brass buttons are to each panel on the front with gilt tapes that have burnished with time. Some are not intact or partially intact. The cuffs and laydown collar are adorned with the same insignia. The interior is partially lined in white silk that has some sewn repairs and tearing. A handsewn breast pocket is presnt. The breast measures approximately 37". Most probably circa 1810 to 1840. This early stuff very seldom turns up!
