BACKGROUND: The Sixth United States Army was activated in January 1943 at Fort Sam Houston, Texas. Its major theater of operations was in the pacific. It is credited with the liberation of Manila at a cost of over thirty- seven thousand casualties.
PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION: A machine embroidered, 7cm diameter badge, that consists of a six pointed white star with a red interior border and a red "A" to its center. The red letter "A" signifies army.
