BACKGROUND: Introduced in 1931 by Aimo Lahti and Lieutenant Y. Koskinen, the serial production was handled by the state owned Tekkakoski facility. Although production ceased in 1953, it was still in service until 1998.

PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION: A wooden stock gun with strap and 71 round drum magazine and clip. The gun cocks, but does not click. The site is clearly marked "Suomi Tikkakoski Patent 1932; the barrel is marked 19293, the receiver plug is marked 76012 and the magazine is marked 63305 with "SA" within a circle. Of Note: 68,000 SJR were produced by 1953.
