C002677 WWII NORWEGIAN POLICE GREATCOAT.
Greatcoat for Norwegian Police troops raised and trained in Sweden from Norwegian fugitives. A blue/grey wool, double breasted great coat with two rows of five grey buttons with a rampant lion with an axe on a striped background. The collar is pointed with some mothing and sewn repairs under the collar. There are thread remnants as the collar insignia has been removed. A pair of integral button shoulder straps are in place. There are a pair of buttons to the reverse sides seams, but no belt. A large walk out slit is also present with no buttons but a single hook and eyelet. The interior is partially lined in cotton with stamps; including a date for 1940 and a size "96". The greatcoat shows overall moderate moth tracking and holes. The chest measures approximately 38".
