C002296 USMC CANTEEN COVER.

This canteen cover, dated 1963, is actually an item manufactured for the Marine Corps, and in use throughout the Vietnam War. In 1956 the U.S. Army went to a type of “clips”for canteen cases and other gear. However, the Marines continued to use 
the old style 1910 belt hangers with their M1961 cartridge belts.
