C052276 VICTORIA RIFLES OF CANADA CAP BADGE.

BACKGROUND: Every infantry or armored regiment had its own insignia. Cap badges were usually made of white metal, brass, copper or bi-metal. Most commonly brass and white metal were used. Officers were sometimes known to wear private purchase cap badges made of silver or silver bullion.

PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION: A blackened brass 16 pointed star with the Kings Crown surmounted to the top with "VRC" as cut out letters to the center with a garter belt with the Rifles motto "Pro Aris et Fogis" which is Latin "For Our Altars and Our Homes." The reverse has two lugs present.
