C007178 POST WAR "THE CANADIAN SCOTTISH PRINCESS MARY’S" SHOULDER FLASHES.

BACKGROUND: In 1920, through the amalgamation of the 50th Regiment and The Victoria Fusiliers, "The Canadian Scottish Regiment" was formed. It was not until 1948 that "Princess Mary’s" was added for the Colonel-in-Chief (H.R.H. Princess Mary 1897-1965). It was at this time that they were organized as a single battalion. They are Headquartered in Victoria British Columbia and are still active.

PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION: Machine embroidered flashes approximately 12cm x 5cm that consist of blue thread forming "The Canadian Scottish" and "Princess Mary’s" with brown, green and beige thread forming an oak leaf with an acorn to the center between the inscriptions. They are a slightly miss-matched pair; one flash has some dye bled onto one of the acorns and the dye of the blue thread is not identical. One has been removed from a uniform.
