L11548 TECHNICIAN'S TOOL CASE WITH CONTENTS. (Werkzeugkasten mit Inhalt) 18 3/4" x 13" x 3", nicely constructed wooden case with dovetailed corner joints and small protective metal reinforcement plates to all eight corners. Case has four small magnetic sheet metal "feet" to top lid and two lateral, raised wooden slats with four circular recessed metal plates to bottom lid. It appears the circular recessed plates were designed to accommodate the four metal "feet" enabling the case to be stacked with other similar cases. Case retains about 85% of its original Luftwaffe blue/grey paint. Top lid has faint, illegible remnants of stenciled script. Fold back top lid has a staggered, magnetic sheet metal, internal bar hinge to reverse and dual alloy closure clips to obverse. Obverse also has a blackened leather carrying handle secured to the case by dual, screwed on alloy plates. Locking mechanism has broken. Natural wood interior retains almost all of its multi-compartment internal frame work. Case contains three assorted pair of pliers, a flat headed screwdriver, a six power magnifying glass with molded black bakelite housing and simulated leather carrying bag, a viewing mirror with a telescopic alloy handle, housed in a small chamois bag, a set of magnetic sheet metal calibers in a simulated leather pouch, a set of twenty magnetic sheet metal width determining spanners, a magnetic sheet metal ruler and two removable wooden boxes with black bakelite and alloy construction probe lights. One of the removable wooden boxes is 12 3/4" x 6 1/4" x 1 7/8" with dual small staggered, magnetic sheet metal, internal bar hinge to reverse and dual magnetic sheet metal closure clips to obverse. Top lid of box has black stenciled script, "Suchspiegelgerät (Taschenlampe) Type EL-O-WE Nr. 16b mit biegs. Verlängerung 350mm", (Probe mirror equipment {Electric light} Type EL-O-WE Nr. 16b with 350mm flexible extension cord). Interior of box has all of its compartment frame work intact and houses two different sized electric lights with molded, ribbed black bakelite battery housing and nickel/silver plate flexible extended cords with the light bulb inserted in the end. One of the lights has a small movable horizontal arm at light bulb end onto which assorted sized mirrors can be secured enabling the user to view around corners. Five assorted sized mirrors are included. The other removable wooden box is 8" x 3 3/4" x 1 5/8" with dual small staggered, magnetic sheet metal, internal bar hinge to reverse and single magnetic sheet metal closure clip to obverse. Top lid of box has black stenciled script, "Zylinder-Ausleutchtlampe (Stablampe) Type EL-O-WE Nr. 29", (Cylinder-exterior luminous lamp (Baton Light} Type EL-O-WE Nr. 29). Interior of box has all of its compartment frame work intact and houses an electric light with molded, ribbed black bakelite battery housing and nickel/silver plate flexible extended cord with the light bulb inserted in the end. Interior of each of the removable boxes has a purple manufacturers scripted inkstamp that includes manufacturers name, "Schieck-Instrumente Fabrik für Optik u. Feinmechanik". Interior top lid of the larger outer case has two alloy equipment plates with printed script. Script to plates includes, "Bauart:(Type of construction) with manufactures codes, "Baumuster: Prüfgerät E", (Construction model: Test Equipment E), "Gerät Nr. 140-160" and "140-124", (Equipment numbers), "Werk. Nr. 667", (Work {order} number), and "Anforderz. Fl68 220", (Requisition number). Interesting case and contents.
