L011064 DRIVER'S PROFICIENCY BADGE IN SILVER AWARD DOCUMENT. (Urkunde für Kraftfahr Bewährungsabzeichen)

BACKGROUND: A series of three Driver's Proficiency Badges were introduced on October 23RD 1942, with qualifications for award being retroactive to December 1ST 1940. Criteria for award of one of the badges varied with exceptional driving ability and vehicle maintenance being the main considerations. Badges were awarded to both Wehrmacht and civilian personnel who fulfilled the required criteria.

PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION: Roughly, 15cm x 21cm, mid-weight paper, document with black printed script. The script indicates that a "Obergefreiten", was awarded a drivers badge in silver on, "15. 12 1943". Authorizing signature of a Oberstleutnant und Regt. - Kommandeur with the appropriate command inkstamp.
