L008695 PHOTOGRAPH.

A 7cm x 10cm image of a British or Canadian soldier by the tail of a German plane. Looks to be an ME or BF109.

New Info added June 14th 2026

"This particular Messerschmitt fighter was shot down during the Battle of Britain at East Langdon, Kent on 28 August 1940.
It is a ME Bf109E-4, werk nummer 5587 - yellow 10 of 6./51 Molder's.
The badge on the rear section of the fuselage is commonly known as the 'Brelly Bird'. It apparently depicts
Chamberlain (as a crying crow) with umbrella tucked under its arm. The badge came is various colours/format
depending upon who cut the stencils I guess - ;o) Just below the bird's feet is the slogan - Gott Straffe England
- 'May God Punish England'. It's a term that was coined during WWI and used by the Luftwaffe during WW2.
