BACKGROUND: Protective foul weather clothing and headgear were components of a ships on-board clothing stores and were issued to watch and deck personnel on an "as need" basis during inclement weather.
PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION: Full length, black leather construction coat. Fully lined in heavy grey wool. All buttons, zippers and snaps complete. Roughly a size 36 chest. Scarce pattern.
