J005280 (IJA) M1886 CALVARY TROOPER’S SWORD.  

A M1886 cavalry troopers sword with a single-hanger scabbard. The sword’s iron and wood hilt has a guard with a thick knuckle bow, and an "cross hatched" back strap. The wooden bottom portion of the hilt is also "cross hatched" for better grip. Original locking mechanism and hilt screws are complete. The 77cm, machined blade is slightly curved and has long fullers to both of its sides. Blade is serial numbered "29996". Blade is in nice clean condition. Single hanger and a drag with a matching serial number. Fairly scarce.
