J003994 CASE FOR 1937 CHINA INCIDENT MEDAL. 

Established in 1939 and awarded to Japanese soldiers departing for service in the undeclared war against China (hence, "incident"). The 2 3/8" x 4 3/8" x 13/16", black, hardshell presentation case has stamped to its convex cover, in silver, eight vertically arranged kanji characters. The interior base is lined in a navy blue flocking and features a depression which follows the contours of the medal and ribbon.
