The one-piece crown is piped in red wool to its edge. The four-piece body has seams at each of its cardinal points, with two metal grommet ventilation holes under each side of the crown. The cap has its original black patent finished chinstrap, with dual adjustment sliders, fixed by alloy officer’s buttons with embossed chrysanthemums. Black patent finished visor. The silk liner is complete and has the original owners name stitched in. The simulated leather sweatband is complete and in nice condition showing the expected light cracking. Slight mothing on the piping along the crown of the cap. Red cap band is a little soiled. About 20% of the brass star's finish has chipped off. Approximately size 54. Shows age, use and period wear, but overall nice condition.
