H045879 "REICHSWEHR" CAVALRY UNIT SPORTS SHIELD. (Sportschild) 

A machine woven wool unit "shield," which replaced, in October of 1932, the earlier, circular sports badge, and which would have been sewn to the right breast of the sports shirt. Roughly 50mm wide and 80mm tall, its background color is golden-yellow, indicating the branch of service as Cavalry, and it has, within its black borders, the unit number "11," also in black, distinguishing the wearer as having belonged to the 11th Cavalry regiment. Scarce.
