Second pattern Luftwaffe model. Both the Army and Navy used brass bodied drums, as did the Luftwaffe - but the latter moved to a white metal body in 1937. (Thank you Shawn) The white metal bodied drums are more scarce than brass. A 37cm diameter drum, with skins to either face, separated by a 16cm tall aluminum surround with upper and lower wooden bands. The tope and bottom skins show the expected usage and wear. The chains and tensor has been replaced. Five right-angle metal brackets are equidistantly riveted along both the upper and lower bands, with threaded metal posts fed between them. The top of these posts are triangular in shape, which correspond to the wrench that is also included and marked ""No. 212 Extra" These control the tightening of both the upper and lower skins. The drum is also manufacture marked "Johs. Link Weissenfels, 1941". Shows the expected period use and wear but overall nice condition.
