H017493 FREIES INDIEN AZAD HIND PHOTOGRAPH GROUPING.
A group of five small wartime photos of Indian personnel of the Freies Indien ("Free India" or Azad Hind) battalion in German uniforms. In each one of the five, the Freies Indien sleeve shield is visible. Both Sikhs (distinctive Sikh turbans) and Hindu personnel (M43 caps) are seen in the photos in a variety of winter and summer tropical clothing. The largest two measure approximately 6cm x 9cm, while the smallest three measure approximately 5cm x 6.5cm. Extremely rare photographic material. Excellent condition.
