N31650 1933 NSBO EVENTS COMMEMORATIVE BADGE. (Erinnerungsabzeichen) The RBA, "Reichsbetriebszellenabteilung" (National-factory-cells-department), was founded in January 1931 and was renamed the NSBO, "Nationalsozialische Betriebszellen Organization" (National-socialist Industrial-cells Organization), in March of that year. This organization acted as the NSDAP’s alternative to labour unions and communist worker groups in industrial factories. Officially a national organization, the NSBO was concentrated in the heavy industrial centers, with very little representation outside these areas. The NSBO was absorbed into the DAF in October 1934, and ceased to exist in March 1935. A 1" x 2", stamped alloy "tinnie" to whose top is the NSBO emblem of, to the right, a disembodied hand holding a hammer with a static swastika to its head, with a partial cogged wheel proceeding to the left. Underneath the emblem is the embossed quotation, "Es Wird Künftig Nur Noch Einen Adel Geben - Adel der Arbeit" (It Will-become [in the] Future Only One Nobility [to] Give - Nobility of Work), with "Adolf Hitler" and "1933" beneath it. An eagle with outstretched wings clutching a wreathed, mobile swastika is to the base of the badge. To its unmarked, hollow-backed reverse is soldered a horizontal pin-back device. Age darkening is particularly pronounced to the obverse, but this tends to attractively augment the highlights. The pin-back device to the reverse may have been re-soldered.
