N28854 NSDAP POLITICAL FLAG POLE FINIAL. (Fahnenspitzen) A polished aluminum flag pole finial, in the form of an eagle whose outstretched wings have a span of 9 1/2", and which clutches a wreathed, mobile swastika in its talons. The obverse of the swastika is painted in black enamel, all of which has been retained. From the base of the wreath extends a collar, 2 3/4" deep with a 1" internal diameter. Two perforations may be seen to its exterior, along with a stamped RZM, "Reichszeugmeisterei" (National-material-control-office), logo and "M3/40/37," being a manufacturer’s code with a 1937 date. Typical light surface scratches and age darkening is evident throughout.
