N24651 1933-34 N.S.D.A.P. ASSISTANCE DONATION BADGE. (Schenkungabzeichen) A stamped alloy shield-shaped badge, 1" wide and 1 5/8" tall, which appears to have originally had a gilt or brass wash. The central image to its obverse is a mobile swastika against a radiating sun, underneath of which are two crossed sprigs of barley above a two-tiered platform. An "A" is faintly visible to the left of the platform, and a "C" may be seen to the other side; these being, most likely, the designer’s initials. "Wir Helfen" (We Helped) and "1933-34" is embossed to the base of the image. A horizontal pin-back device is soldered to its unmarked reverse. At least 60% of its original wash remains, with the remainder dulled and age darkened.
