N24052 DLRG BASIC CERTIFICATE LAPEL BADGE. (Aufschlagnadel) A lapel pin for the DLRG, "Deutsche Lebens-Rettungs-Gemeinschaft" (German Life-Saving-Association), in the form of a tombak horizontal oval, 13/16" across. "Grundschein" (Basic-certificate) is embossed along the border to the top of the oval, and a spray of oak leaves is along its base. The central image is of a profiled eagle fanning its wings atop a rock with the sea in the background. "DLRG" is embossed to the left of the eagle, immediately above the waves. A 2" long, vertical, rifled pin proceeds from a circular base brazed to the center of the reverse. Age darkening is evident to the reverse and to the recesses of the obverse, and its obverse highlights are lightly worn.
