N19255 VETERAN'S ORGANIZATION FLAG. (Fahne)
BACKGROUND: The DRKB, "Deutscher Reichs-Krieger-Bund" (German National-veterans’-association), was formed during WWI, and based on the DKB, "Deutscher Krieger-Bund," originally formed in the 1870s. By 1936 it had incorporated most of the varied veterans’ associations into it, and was itself re-named the NS-RKB, "Nationalsozialistische Reichskriegerbund" (National-socialist State-veterans’-organization), in 1938.
PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION: A 50" x 44", printed cotton NS-RKB flag. It features a red background to a black Iron Cross, edged in white, with, to its center, a double black bordered white disk within which is a black mobile swastika. One edge has a 6 " black band to it, and all the edges have a dual ply hem with reinforced stitching. The flag exhibits age soiling and moderate moth damage, evident in the small to medium size holes scattered throughout. A nice moderately used flag.
