N076259 SA DAGGER HANGER. (SA Dolch Gehänge)
BACKGROUND: The SA, "Sturmabteilung" (Storm-troops), M33 service dagger was the first dagger officially sanctioned by the NSDAP, being introduced in December of 1933. The dagger was intended as a purely ornamental item, its design based on the 16th century Swiss "Holbein" hunting dagger.
PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION: Roughly 4" long by 1/2" wide brown leather strap with silver washed oval pronged buckle and silver washed steel friction clip. Nicely marked RZM M5/71 for the firm of Overhoff & Cie, Lüdenscheid. Nice complete example.
