BACKGROUND: The Frauenamt der Deutsche Arbeitsfront , (Female Department of the German Labor Front), was the un-uniformed female equivalent of the male DAF, and positions were distinguished by a lapel badge. Second pattern rank badge as introduced in 1938.

PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION: Die struck alloy badge with enamel work and a silver wash. Badge in the form of an inverted triangle roughly 32mm tall with a 31mm wide base edge. Badge features a black enamel central field with a cogged wheel encompassing a swastika, all encompassed by a blue outer border with fine bronze colored stripes to inner and outer edges. Reverse with combined pin and catch assembly with a soldered circular base plate. Reverse well marked with embossed RZM logo and, "M1/18", for Gold-und Silber-Scheide-Ansalt, Oberstein a.d. N. Badge signifies rank of Frauensachbearbeiterin, (Shop steward), at the Ortsgruppe level of the Betriebsgemeinschaft (Factory Community). Scarce.
