BACKGROUND: Kreis and Ortsgruppe level political units were awarded unit standards based on the Blut Fahne (Blood Flag), with the addition of a named identification panel in the canton. Each unit would choose a standard bearer who would be issued with the bandolier.

PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION: Multi-piece construction in mid-brown leather and simulated leather with brown velvet and gilt tress facing and light blue leather trim. Bandolier consists of two 3 3/8" wide straps, one being roughly 15 3/4" long and the other roughly 48" long with a gentle curve to center section to fit properly over shoulder. Both straps are stitched to an hour glass shaped leather tab with molded leather cup to front to insert standard pole. Front facing has a mid-brown velvet base with a 1/2" wide gilt tress outer edging and 1/4" wide gilt tress inner edging. Light blue leather trim signifies an Ortsgruppe level bandolier. Top obverse of short strap has a leather reinforced pronged roller buckle. Reverse top of longer strap with leather retaining tongue for buckle. Tongue marked with faint stamped RZM logo and, "L2/2604/39". Very rare piece of Political uniform kit.
