N041962 1936 WINTER OLYMPICS COMMEMORATIVE BADGE. (Erinnerungsabzeichen) A 1 35mm diameter alloy and enamel badge. The central image is of an abstracted black and white mountain with a blue sky behind, and dual ski trails, in blue, descending through the snow from its peak, over which is the five interlocking rings which comprise the Olympic symbol, with a mobile swastika above it. Arching above the image is "IV. Olympische Winterspiele" (4th Olympic Winter-games), with "Garmische-Partenkirchen," being the location, similarly scrolled beneath, the two separated by "19" to the left, and "36" to the right. The reverse of the badge has a horizontal, soldered pin back device secured by a circular plate intact and is well marked with the impressed manufacturer's name and location, "C. Poellath Schrobenhausen". Nice worn and used example.
