BACKGROUND: Originally instituted in January 1932 the NSFK Nationalsozialistisches Fliegerkorps, (National Socialist Flying Corps), was soon absorbed into the DLV, Deutscher Luftsport Verband, (German Air Sports League). On April 17TH 1937 the NSFK, was reestablished and at the same time the DLV, was disbanded. The NSFK was mainly a voluntary organization with a small cadre of paid personnel. The NSFK’s mandate covered all aspects of civilian flight and the organization was divided into three main sections consisting of aircraft, balloons and glider flight. Any NSFK member who owned a vehicle was permitted to fly a red pennant on the left fender.

PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION: A multi-piece red cotton construction pennant, 38cm across with a 22cm tall hoist edge. Pennant features a machine woven winged Icarus and mobile swastika to its center, with the letters "NSFK" above. The end of the pennant is reinforced with multiple rows of stitching, and its hoist edge has a 18mm wide tunnel loop sewn to it. A metal spring clip protrudes from the top of the tunnel loop, and the end of the cord protrudes 12cm from the other end. Very nice untouched example and hard to find. Nice!
