PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION: A black rayon ceremonial pillow case, 15 1/4" wide and 16 3/4" long, with a 9 1/4" extension to it with silver-aluminum fringe along its edge. To the extension is embroidered, also in silver-aluminum thread, the NSRKB emblem of an eagle, whose spread wings have a span of 14 1/2", with a wreathed, mobile swastika in its talons, and an Iron Cross to its breast, with swords crossing behind it. To the face of the pillow itself is embroidered a silver-aluminum border, with decorative twists to its corners, surrounding the silver-aluminum outline of an Iron Cross. Five, small vertical loops may be seen above an arm of the cross, facilitating the attachment of awards. This would establish the pillow as being of the sort presented during funerary services, displaying the achievements of the deceased. The reverse of the case is featureless. Light age soiling is evident throughout, but it is in generally very clean condition, and its fringe and embroidery are still very bright.
